Sleep is not optional. While science is still answering many questions about how sleep is useful to our brains, there’s no question that sleep is critical for a healthy life. When we find ourselves getting too much, too little, low-quality, or inopportune sleep, it can impact every other area of our life.

Sometimes sleep problems can stem from poor sleep hygiene, meaning that learning and implementing new tools, habits, and skills can make a huge difference in our sleep routine.

Other times, there’s a part of us that resists sleep for any number of reasons. Together, we can work to understand why sleep feels threatening to something within us; that’s the first step toward a resolution that leaves us healthier, happier, and more attuned to the people and world around us.
